Band, Choir Members Shine in Honor Concerts
Congratulations to St. Mary’s Dominican High School band and choir members for their performances in Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) concerts and the Loyola University – Colonel John Bourgeois Senior High Honor Band.
French hornists Andrea Garces (from left) and Lan Le performed in the Loyola University – Colonel John Bourgeois Senior High Honor Band. Bourgeois (center) is the retired band director, arranger and French hornist of the United States President’s Marine Band, uniquely known as “The President’s Own” because of its historic connection to the President of the United States.
Following their performance in the LMEA All-State Senior High Honor Orchestra, are O’Brien Alley and Lan Le, with the orchestra’s clinician Douglas Droste, Artistic Director of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and Director of Orchestras at Ball State University, and fellow students Catherine Cerise and Lili Cerise.
Choir member Cecilia Bourg, with Dr. Roland Carter, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and clinician for the LMEA All-State Senior High Honor Mixed Choir, performed in the choir. The events were part of the LMEA Professional Development Conference.
