Dominican Participates in Day of Prayer

Today, at 12:30 p.m., the St. Mary’s Dominican High School community joined in the Southeast Louisiana Day of Prayer. A student preacher led students, faculty and staff in recitation of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Prayer – In the New Battle of New Orleans Against Violence, Murder and Racism. St Mary’s Dominican High School, sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Peace, was among area schools and churches that accepted Crimestoppers’ invitation to participate in unison for the Day of Prayer observance.

During this devotional time, Vice President of Dominican Catholic Identity Jill Cabes rang the bell in front of the O’Farrell Student Complex. The bell is from St. Charles Avenue Campus that was moved to the current campus on Walmsley Avenue.
