| I can’t believe almost three weeks have gone by since my first day at Dominican. My time at DHS has already been filled with new experiences and events, and most importantly, a lot of fun! Some of the highlights so far include meeting my Big Sister, the Mass of Welcome, and elections for Homeroom Delegates. During Orientation, I met my Big Sis for the first time, who welcomed me and made me feel like I was truly a part of DHS. It was also exciting to get my Dominican Pin at the Mass of Welcome. Another highlight was elections for Homeroom Delegate and Vice Delegate. I was elected to represent my homeroom, 8E, for three weeks, until the next election in mid-September. The 8th graders will elect permanent Reps and Vice-Reps later this fall. Although these events were just some of many, they were my favorite experiences so far. If these three weeks are any indication of my future at Dominican, I can’t wait for the rest of the year! |

| I am so glad to be walking the halls of Dominican again, especially now as a Freshman Fairy. The Spirit Assembly in the middle of Spirit Week made me proud to be a Dominican student, and it got me excited about the Back to School Dance that Friday night. I had a blast with my friends! We danced the night away in our outrageous costumes! Club Information Day this past Friday was a huge help in deciding which clubs to join. I can’t wait for the first club meeting!

 | Sophomore year was kicked off by Spirit Week led by our fabulous new E-Board! “Magical Monday” was all about Harry Potter. Students of all ages donned their lighting shaped scars with pride. The next day was “Ta-Da Tuesday.” The E-Board hosted a talent show at each lunch. I personally know that two brilliant Sophomore singers stole the show at Second Lunch (wink, wink). “Once Upon a Wednesday” pepped us all up for the Spirit Assembly. The entire Dominican community came together for an awesome afternoon of cheering and excitement. “Thumb War Thursday” was accompanied by some excellent song choices for lunch. My personal favorite was Mulan’s “Let’s Get Down To Business.” Finally, “Flashback Friday” reminded us all of the good old days. Skip-it and Bop-it competitions were held throughout lunch. If the entire year goes as well as these past three weeks have, I think it’s pretty safe to say that his year is going to be a great one! |

.jpg) | The 2009-2010 School Year has finally arrived and for me, a Dominican Junior, new experiences and upperclassman privileges are now part of my everyday life! With the beginning of school and Spirit Week, it’s been easy to get back into the DHS Spirit! Throughout Spirit Week the whole Dominican community participated in activities like fringing, a Spirit Assembly, and of course admiring Student Council’s beautiful hall decorations! On the last day of Spirit Week, all grade levels dressed up in their class colors and came together for our Back to School Dance! Juniors and Seniors made their final arrangement for our upcoming Pom Pom Day, and the 8th and 9th graders explored all that Dominican has to offer at Club Information Day! |

 | It felt so exciting and incredible to walk back into the halls of Dominican this year, especially now that I am a senior. It was great seeing familiar faces and old friends again, but this time in my senior sweater! The start to the school year has been a lot of fun! My friends and I had lunch with our Little Sisters the day before school started, and I must say that my Little Sister is the best! During the Back to School Spirit Assembly, the “Senior Queens” reigned supreme and proudly showed Dominican how royal we truly are. This year’s Back-To-School-Dance was probably the greatest one I have ever been to. They gym was covered in decorations and the costumes could not have been cuter. I am so fortunate to have great teachers this year, and I know they will prepare me well for college. It’s hard to believe that Ring Day will be here in two weeks, and I know it will be one of the best days that I will ever experience as a Dominican Student! |
