A delivery of 1,100 Sucré cupcakes on December 12 to St. Mary’s Dominican High School made for a sweet Sucré Cupcake Challenge celebration with students, faculty and staff.
After four qualifying rounds, Dominican won the final four-way Cupcake Challenge hosted by Sucré to see which school was New Orleans’ favorite! The winning cupcake, Cookies n’ Cream, gave a nod to school colors of black and white. Sucre’ founder and Chief Executive Officer Joel Dondis and Executive Chef Tariq Hanna presented a trophy and $1,000 check to the Dominican Student Executive Board. The prize money will be given to the Dominican Sisters Peace Center on Broadway Street in Dominican’s neighborhood. The Center opened in September as a neighborhood outreach spot for people of all ages.
