Sophomore Day of Reflection

On Thursday, January 29th, the sophomore class participated in their Class of 2017 Day of Reflection. The day was centered around the theme of prayer and authenticity. Students enjoyed group talks and activities focused on discovering beauty, appreciating the gift that God created them to be, and learning how to connect with God through music and Scripture. One of the highlights of the day was the creation of a prayer jar which the girls decorated and included inspirational quotes, Bible verses, and prayer intentions. Fr. Matthew Johnston, Parochial Vicar at St. Clement of Rome Parish in Metairie, joined the students and their parents for mid day Mass. In his homily, Fr. Johnston encouraged the students to recognize God being present in their desire to be loved in a complete and total way. He quoted St. Augustine saying, “Our hearts are restless until they rest in You.” At the end of the day, sophomores gathered together joyfully to share their inspirations and insights. Special thanks to all of the faculty and upperclassmen who contributed to making the day a huge success.
