St. Joseph Altar

On the Feast of St. Joseph, Rev. Orlando Cardozo, O.P., of St. Anthony of Padua Church, lead students, faculty and staff in a blessing of the St. Joseph Altar displayed in the Siena Center Atrium. Before the blessing, Frank Cusimano, faculty member, shared the history of the St. Joseph Altar, a tradition of Thanksgiving, Promise and Petition that originated several centuries ago in Sicily. Sr. Pat Harvat, O.P., Vice-President of Dominican Catholic Identity, will be distribute the food to three groups – a home that provides shelter for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence, a community group of families that have lost loved ones to violence, and the community food pantry at St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
