The Flag-Wavers of Sansepolcro, a group of flag wavers, drummers and trumpeters from the Tuscan region of Italy, performed March 17 during a student assembly. Sansepolcro, a city in central Italy, is known for the flag-waving group that originated in the 1950s. The performance featured routines of synchronized moves, aerial exchanges and rapid spins. The Sansepolcro Flag-Wavers, were the first group to be formed in Italy and is the oldest of all groups involved in similar activities. They perform internationally, including previous visits to New Orleans.
