On Saturday, May 9, Veritas Volunteers met with Susan, the founder of “Lara’s Gowns for Smiles” to cut out fabric pieces to make hospital gowns for children with long-term illnesses. The girls cut out fabric to make 35 hospital gowns. Some gowns will be sent to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and others sent overseas. Lara’s Gowns for Smiles started after Susan made a few gowns for her step-grandaughter Lara Grace, who was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. The gowns brought her smiles and so it began.
