A large, circular wood sign, dating to the early 1960s, was a welcomed find in storage at St. Mary’s Dominican High School. Dominican President Dr. Cynthia Thomas and DHS 1963 alumna Jamie Manders, DDS , hold the sign that will be in the Aquinas Hall foyer. Manders was among the students who painted the sign. “I knew then it would be a part of Dominican’s history and would be there forever, and I was a part of it,” recalled a smiling Manders. On the back of the sign are signatures and dates from students in classes ranging from 1960 to 1975.
Jamie Manders, DDS ’63 and Alumnae Director Celeste Anding ’82 look at photos of the sign in the 1963 school yearbook.
