In the religion classes, stacks of wrapped gifts and bicycles lined the classroom walls; each parcel tagged for delivery to families throughout the New Orleans Archdiocese.
For this year’s Adopt-A-Family program, the Dominican community adopted 51 families from agencies that serve the New Orleans area: Bridges to Self Sufficiency, Rapid Rehousing of Families, and The Metropolitan Women’s Shelter. In addition, families living in the Treme neighborhood were adopted through the assistance and coordination of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
The Dads’ Club handled pick-up and delivery of all the gifts.
