Mu Alpha Theta is the National Mathematical Honor Society. Its purpose is to further an understanding and interest in mathematics. Members are selected from students currently enrolled in Algebra II, Advanced Math, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus who have a 3.75 cumulative average in math courses and a 3.5 overall GPA. Students are given the opportunity to apply during the first semester of the school year. Meetings are held during the Lunch/Activity period.
Forty-three students at St. Mary’s Dominican High School were inducted into Mu Alpha Theta (MAO) during recent ceremonies. MAO is the national high school and two-year college Mathematics Honor Society with 105,000 student members in more than 2100 schools.
