Honoring the Dominican Sisters and all women religious during Catholic Sisters Week, St. Mary’s Dominican High School Alumnae served meals to 70 residents at Covenant House. Food for the Italian dinner was donated by 16 Dominican Alumnae. Participating with Dominican during Catholic Sisters Week were Ursuline Academy and Holy Cross High School who also dedicated a day to provide meals at Covenant House.
Catholic Sisters Week began in 2015 as part of National Women’s History Month. It is now an official component of Women’s History Month. The annual celebration, observed March 8-14, honors the women who have taken religions vows and acknowledges their tireless work and encouraging more women to explore religious life.
