Dominican Volleyball Coach and Players Named All-State and All-District

St. Mary’s Dominican High School’s Head Volleyball Coach Jessica Chatellier, from left, was named Division I Coach of the Year by the Louisiana Volleyball Coaches Association (LVCA), and team members Elizabeth Hardouin, Kate Baker, and Olivia Peyton were named to the LVCA All-State Team.

At the end of the season, LVCA members nominate up to four of their athletes for All-State. Members also have the opportunity to nominate a coach of the year and a player of the year for each division. Fifty athletes from the state receive All-State and one coach from each division is selected as Coach of the Year.  Honorees will be saluted at a banquet in Baton Rouge on January 12.

To date, Chatellier has 350 wins at Dominican during her 17 years at the school. She has coached volleyball for 13 seasons. From 2003-2009 she was Volleyball Coach, and the following four years was Golf Coach and Student Council moderator. She returned to coach volleyball during the 2014-2015 school year.

Named to the Division I District 8 All-District Volleyball Team were Coach of the Year – Jessica Chatellier; Most Valuable Player – Olivia Peyton; First Team – Kate Baker and Brooke Couret; Second Team – Elizabeth Hardouin; and Honorable Mention – O’Neil Haddad and Zoe Smith.

Baker and Peyton were also named to the Clarion Herald Elite Volleyball Team.
