Dominican Ultraviolet Team Shares Robotics Lessons with Girl Scouts

In the Robotics Lab at St. Mary’s Dominican High School there was a buzz of activity and chatter among members of Girl Scouts Troop #40079 who were ready to learn about robotics and earn their Robotics Badges, with guidance from Dominican science teachers and robotics coaches Mrs. Crissy Giacona and Ms. Gillian Decossas, and students who are members of the Dominican Ultraviolet Team.

During their visit, the Girl Scouts learned that robots need a specific language to move and programmed an EV3 robot to move forward, backwards, wave the arm, and make funny eyes and silly sounds. They were thrilled to test drive their robots and earn their badges. Everyone received a Dominican gift bag that included a 3D printed robot and a bag tag with their troop number and DHS Robotics.
