We are so excited for you to start your Dominican journey in a few months! One of the many exciting aspects of starting at Dominican will be meeting your big sister! Your big sister will help you learn more about Dominican and be a buddy for you as you settle at Dominican! Please fill out this form by May 31st so that we can best match you to a big sister!
Welcome to Dominican!
As a new 9th grader or transfer student, you will be paired with a buddy to help you learn more about Dominican and settle into the school year. Your buddy will be someone in your grade and ideally someone you have a lot in common with! Completing this form will help us to best match you with your buddy.
Tryouts for the 2024 8th, JV, and varsity volleyball teams will take place Monday, May 13 – Wednesday, May 15.
Mr. Spitzfaden will then respond with the appropriate forms that must be completed and returned to him in order to participate in the tryouts.

Blackbaud Financial Aid Management
Applications for the Financial Aid Work Study Program can be obtained through Blackbaud Financial Aid Management. The Work Study Program offers partial tuition reduction in return for on-campus work. Applications are reviewed and families are notified in May.

Son of a Saint Scholarship Program

Son of a Saint Scholars is a School Tuition Organization (STO), selected by the Louisiana
Department of Education to help facilitate the state’s Tuition Donation Credit (TDC) Program.

As per Archdiocesan guidelines, acceptance packets were mailed on Thursday, February 22nd. If you do not receive your physical acceptance packet by Thursday, February 29, please complete this form to request a new packet. The acceptance packet contains essential information for the registration process.
To complete your registration, you must complete the following requirements:
Enrollment Deposit: To manage your daughter’s tuition account, Dominican is partnered with Blackbaud Tuition Management. Incoming students must enroll with Blackbaud Tuition Management and pay the tuition deposit by Friday, March 8, 2024 to secure their place for the 2024-2025 school year. Please note, if you currently have a daughter attending Dominican, your Blackbaud Tuition Management account will reflect your incoming student, therefore, you do not need to re-enroll. Course Selection Sheet must be signed by student and parent and submitted via email to Mr. Al Silvas, Registrar, at asilvas@stmdhs.org by Friday, March 8, 2024. Course Selection Sheets are mailed out with the acceptance packets.

Yard Sign Pick Up – Parents and students can celebrate and pick up yard signs on Friday, February 23, 2024 at our Acceptance Letter Celebration starting at 3:30pm. If you cannot attend the celebration, yard signs will be available in the Walmsley Avenue foyer through March 22. The foyer is open on regular school days from 7 AM to 3:15 PM.
Orientation for Incoming Students and Parents: An orientation for new students and their parents will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 9:30 AM. You will have an opportunity to receive information about textbooks, technology, uniforms, and much more.
Walkin’ on Walmsley: This highly encouraged summer orientation program gives incoming students the opportunity to explore their new school, make new friends, and complete technology training. It takes place from July 15 – 19 from 9 AM to 3:00 PM. Click here to register. Registration will close on Friday, May 31, 2024.
Registration and Technology Training for New Students: August 12th-14th (technology training will be for those students that did not attend Walkin’ on Walmsley)
First Day of School: Thursday, August 15th
Technology Information: As part of our STREAM™ Initiative, students are required to bring a personal computing device to campus daily. Learn more about computer specifications and options here. Please note that this device is required for the Walkin’ on Walmsley program.
Upcoming Tryouts: Accepted students should check the New Student Portal regularly for information regarding tryouts for performance groups and sports teams.
Financial Aid/Work Study Information: Dominican does not grant any full tuition waivers; however, those in financial need may apply for a partial reduction of tuition through the Work Study Program. Applications for these reductions should be made to Blackbaud Financial Aid Management by April 1, 2024. Click here to access Blackbaud Financial Aid Management information.
Academic Scholarship Notifications: Dominican awards several eighth-grade partial scholarships based on a student’s elementary school records (standardized test scores, grades, conduct, and effort) and her composite score on the High School Placement Test taken on Application Day. All incoming eighth graders are considered for these scholarships; there is no application process. Students will be notified in May 2024 if they are a recipient of an academic scholarship.
