Creativity prevailed at the August 25 Back to School Dance. Students, from 8th graders to seniors, displayed their soaring spirit in an array of class colors.
As the moon crossed the sun, Dominican students viewed the August 21 solar eclipse outside, wearing protective glasses, and inside, watching NASA’s live feed of America’s Pacific-to-Atlantic total solar eclipse. The last such eclipse was 99 years ago.
In observance of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, a community Mass was celebrated by school chaplain Fr. John Restrepo, O.P. Tuesday was Technology Day for 8th graders who attended orientation sessions with faculty and staff. Freshmen through seniors completed their registration and took their yearbook photos.
Today, the Dominican community welcomed the incoming Class of 2022! Monday was packed with several activities. Students were paired with their Big Sisters (Class of 2018) who guided them through the registration process and a run through on locker breaks and class changes where they met their teachers.
