Dominican Students Post Wins at National Academic Games

Congratulations to Academic Games members Isabelle Anderson, C.C. Truxillo, Camille Hymel, and Therese Hymel for their recent wins at the Academic Games National competition in Atlanta, GA. 

Camille Hymel and Therese Hymel were on the New Orleans Middle Division team, placing 6th in On-Sets, 7th in Presidents, 5th in Propaganda, and 2nd in Equations. Their team also won 4th place in overall Sweepstakes!

Isabelle Anderson and C.C. Truxillo were on the New Orleans Senior team, placing 1st in Presidents, 4th in Propaganda, 5th in On-Sets, and 4th in overall Sweepstakes.

Individually, C.C. Truxillo placed 4th in Presidents and 5th in overall Sweepstakes.

A special Toast of Praise to Isabelle Anderson who was one of only six seniors in the nation to receive the prestigious Outstanding Senior Award!

Also qualified to go to the national competition were Avery Johnston (8th grade), Truc Nguyen(10th), Maddie McGuire (12th), and Tess Baker (12th). Dominican’s Academic Games moderators are Leslie Cobar and Monica Haag.

Academic Games is a competition in the U.S. in which players win by out-thinking each other in mathematics, language arts, and social studies. Formal tournaments are organized by local leagues and on a national level by the Academic Games Leagues of America.
