Dominican’s Engineering Team received the Rookie Team Award for their exceptional performance and placed 4th out of 24, beating several college teams in the Louisiana Collegiate Design Competition (LCDC) held at Louisiana State University. Dominican was one of three high schools that competed at the event that also drew college teams from around the state, hosted by the Society of Peer Mentors from the LSU College of Engineering. LCDC is a student-driven, student organized engineering competition focused on developing skills in leadership, teamwork, networking, and applying engineering knowledge for its participants.
Dominican’s Engineering Team members are Catherine Bickerton, Victoria Chan, Olivia Cheung, Mia Nguyen, and Anita Whitner. Mr. Kenny Lannes is coach and moderator of Dominican’s team.
