Congratulations to Dominican’s two Robotics Teams for their wins at the Louisiana FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC®) Regional Championship, held on March 16 at Destrehan High School.

The Dominican Valkyries Team won 3rd Place for the Inspire Award, the highest award given at the competition. They also took 1st Place for the Motivate Award and 2nd Place for the Connect Award. Team members are Catherine Bickerton, Lauren Cage, Victoria Chan, Olivia Cheung, Kayla Nguyen, Mia Nguyen, Onyinyechi Okeke, Abigayle Rainey, Anita Whitner, and Josie Wood.

Dominican’s Ultra Violet Robotics Team won 1st Place for the Think Award. They also placed 2nd in Design. Team members are Caroline Alleman, Brooke Boyd, Caitlyn Dumas, Kelly Jackson,  Allie Norvell, Coco Ondrusek, Elana Perriott, Sydney Raymond, Daja’h Saul, Indya Taylor, and Audrey Wild.

Dominican’s teams were among the 20 schools from across Louisiana that had qualified for the championship. This marks the fourth time that Dominican qualified for the regional championship. Congratulations to all of the team members and the coaches Mr. Matthew Foss, Mrs. Crissy Giacona, Mrs. Madelyn Maldonado, and Mr. Kenny Lannes.
