Before students in Chemistry I are able to conduct more complex laboratory experiments, they must first become comfortable with laboratory equipment and safety procedures. Students in Mrs. Maldonado’s Chemistry I class completed two introductory labs where they observed the behavior of molecules with different polarities and strengthened their scientific observation skills. Then students set up equipment to filter fine particles from a liquid mixture. “Becoming proficient with laboratory practices is essential for our students. Many of them will participate in similar laboratory experiments in their college careers,” said Mrs. Maldonado.
