Junior Abi Scanlan Earns Perfect Score of 36 on the ACT

St. Mary’s Dominican High School junior Abi Scanlan has earned the highest possible composite score of 36 on the ACT. She is the daughter of Dr. Marideli Scanlan and Dr. Timothy Scanlan of Harvey.

Fewer than half of one percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. high school graduating class of 2021, only 4,055 out of nearly 1.3 million students who took the ACT earned a top composite score of 36 (0.313%).

The ACT is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. It is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States as well as more than 225 universities outside of the U.S. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. Each area is scored on a scale of 1-36. A student’s composite score is the average of the four test scores.
