St. Mary’s Dominican High School students Leah Gilmore and Isabelle Tsien performed in the District Junior High Honor Jazz Band Concert at the New Orleans Jazz Museum on Sunday, March 27. Gilmore performed as a Jazz vocalist and on clarinet. Tsien played the electric bass. The District Junior High Honor Jazz Band consists of students from Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parishes and the concert featured junior high and senior high Honor Jazz Bands. Brenda Castillo, Fine Arts Department Chair Dominican, is director of the school’s Band and Choir.
