National Art Honor Society Wins Judges’ Choice Award at Painted Pumpkin Patch Contest

The entry by St. Mary’s Dominican High School’s National Art Honor Society won the Judges’ Choice Award for the Painted Pumpkin Patch Contest at Lakeside Shopping Center. The contest supports local high school art departments and is sponsored by Lakeside and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.

Dominican’s painted pumpkins themed “Down the Rabbit Hole Alice in Wonderland” featured Alice, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Participating school teams were given five pumpkins to decorate reflecting their entry’s title and theme. Dominican’s “Down the Rabbit Hole Alice in Wonderland” by students Hayley Adorno, Claire Coffer, Adelaide Rodrigue, Madalyn Scalia, Lillian Stouder, and Victoria Volpe featured Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, Alice, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, an 1865 English novel by Lewis Carroll.

Representing Dominican at Lakeside’s Mall-O-Ween were (from left) students Lillian Stouder, Abigail Callhover, and Ellory Schultz.
