St. Mary’s Dominican High School senior Gabriela Munoz is recipient of a $2,000 Joseph Adams Senior Scholarship by the Spanish Honor Society of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). The scholarship recognizes her exceptional academic performance and commitment to the Spanish Honor Society, chapter Las Adelitas at Dominican. It will be applied directly to her future university expenses. Gabriela is the historian of Dominican’s Spanish Club and Spanish Honor Society. Claudia Vallejo is Dominican’s Spanish teacher and Spanish Club moderator.

The Spanish Honor Society, officially called “Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica” and sponsored by AATSP, offers scholarships primarily known as the Joseph Adams Senior Scholarship to graduating high school seniors who are members of the society, allowing them to receive financial aid for their college education based on their achievements in Spanish or Portuguese studies.
