Dominican Senior Zyllah Wooten Receives $1 Million in Scholarships

St. Mary’s Dominican High School senior Zyllah Wooten has been offered $1 million in scholarships from Norwich University, Wiley University, Utica University, Buffalo State University, University of Missouri – St. Louis, Xavier University of Louisiana, Houston Christian University, Dallas Baptist University, Loyola University New Orleans, York College, Canisius University, Newman University, La Salle University, Saint Mary’s College of California, Oral Roberts University, Elmira College, Cornell College, Quincy University, and College of Saint Benedict. She is the daughter of Tanisha Evans of New Orleans.

Academic achievements include TRIO SWASAP Student Leadership Conference (September 2024), The Perry Initiative Outreach Program (June 2024), and Posse Foundation of New Orleans Semi-finalist.

At Dominican, she is a member of the Golf team and has served as a Student Ambassador from 2021 to 2025. As Dominican’s Retreat Team member, she is a student leader and organizer of the Junior Retreats. Community volunteerism includes TRIO Programs, New Orleans, and more than 465 service hours from 2023 to 2024.
