Dominican Senior Kennedi Steele Receives $1 Million in Scholarships

St. Mary’s Dominican High School senior Kennedi Steele has been offered $1 million in scholarships from Manhattan University, Villanova University, University of Pittsburgh, Baylor University, Loyola University Chicago, College of Charleston, Rhodes College, Trinity University, and Arizona State University. Steele is the daughter of Teneika and Dwayne Steele of New Orleans.

The Alpha Honor Roll student is a 2025 Posse Scholar and has dual enrollment in courses for US History, Introduction to Engineering, as well as Advanced Placement courses in Spanish IV and Psychology. At Dominican, she is Science National Honor Society President; Spanish Honor Society member; Spanish Club Vice President and former Secretary; and former Secretary of the National English Honor Society. She also is a member of the National English Honor Society.

At Dominican’s Summer Camps she was a Camp Counselor, assisting camp coordinators with a range of tasks. Her community involvement includes assistant coach for First Tee Greater New Orleans where she instructs young golfers on their golfing techniques and assists the head coach in leading practice sessions that emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship. At Timberlane Golf and Recreation, she assists with organizing golf tournaments and special events.
