The presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella wowed audiences during its two weekend run. Audience members also enjoyed A Fine Arts Festival that was exhibited in Alumnae Hall, featuring 500 pieces of artwork by nearly 400 students.

The stage in the Sr. Ambrose Reggio, O.P. Gymnasium was transformed into a fairytale landscape. It was a perfect backdrop for a memorable musical. The 1957 collaboration of  Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II produced songs that are still treasured today – “In My Own Little Corner”, “Ten Minutes Ago” and “Impossible: It’s Possible.”

At a special weekday matinee, there were squeals of delight and applause from more than 900 students from area schools who packed the gym for an afternoon presentation of the musical. Attending where students from ten schools: Christ the King (Gretna), Holy Name of Jesus (New Orleans), Homer A. Plessy (New Orleans), Immaculate Conception (Marrero), Lynn Oaks (St. Bernard), St. Christopher (Metairie), St. Peter (Reserve), St. Rita (Harahan), St. Rita (New Orleans), and St. Rosalie (Harvey). After the musical, visitors met members of the cast.
