As per Archdiocesan guidelines, acceptance packets were either mailed on Wednesday, February 26th or picked up on Thursday, February 27th. A sheet with the option was given and signed by families on their interview day. If you do not receive your physical acceptance packet by Monday, March 10th, please email Kailyn Smith, at ksmith@stmdhs.org, to request a new packet. The acceptance packet contains essential information for the registration process.
To complete your registration, you must complete the following requirements:
Enrollment Deposit: To manage your daughter’s tuition account, Dominican is partnered with Blackbaud Tuition Management. Incoming students must enroll with Blackbaud Tuition Management and pay the tuition deposit by Monday, March 17th to secure their place for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note, if you currently have a daughter attending Dominican, your Blackbaud Tuition Management account will reflect your incoming student, therefore, you do not need to re-enroll. Course Selection Sheet: Sheet must be signed by student and parent and submitted via email to Mr. Al Silvas, Registrar, at asilvas@stmdhs.org by Monday, March 17th. Course Selection Sheets are mailed out with the acceptance packets. Please refer to the Course Selection Booklet for more information.
Final Report Card: To complete your file, all students must submit a final report card for the 2024-2025 school year by Friday, June 6th. Final report cards should be emailed to Kailyn Smith, at ksmith@stmdhs.org.
Welcome Day – Saturday, March 15th 10am-12pm: Welcome Day at Dominican is an exciting celebration as we invite new students and their families to Dominican! This event will give you the chance to explore everything from technology resources to course selection sheets, ensuring you are fully prepared for the year ahead. You’ll also have the opportunity to shop the Black and White Shop, meet your classmates, and celebrate this new and exciting chapter! It will be a great day to connect, get all of your questions answered, and start your Dominican journey with excitement and support!
Walkin’ on Walmsley – July 14th– 18th 9am-3pm: This highly encouraged summer orientation program gives incoming students the opportunity to explore their new school, make new friends, and complete technology training. Click here to register. Registration will close on Friday, May 31st.

First Day of School – Thursday, August 14th
Technology Information: As part of our STREAM™ Initiative, students are required to bring a personal computing device to campus daily. Learn more about computer specifications and options here. Please note that this device is required for the Walkin’ on Walmsley program.
Upcoming Tryouts: Accepted students should check the New Student Portal regularly for information regarding tryouts for performance groups and sports teams.
Academic Scholarship Notifications: Dominican awards several eighth-grade partial scholarships based on a student’s elementary school records (standardized test scores, grades, conduct, and effort) and her composite score on the High School Placement Test taken on Application Day. All incoming eighth graders are considered for these scholarships; there is no application process. Students will be notified in April 2025 if they are a recipient of an academic scholarship.
Financial Aid/Work Study Information: Dominican does not grant any full tuition waivers; however, those in financial need may apply for a partial reduction of tuition through the Work Study Program. Applications for these reductions should be made to Blackbaud Financial Aid Management by April 1. Click here to access Blackbaud Financial Aid Management information.

The Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity Scholarship Program, or LA GATOR Program, allows parents to use part of their tax dollars to provide the best educational opportunities for their child. Enacted by the 2024 Louisiana legislature (Act 1), this new program will for the first time ever provide education scholarship accounts (ESAs) to Louisiana families. ESAs in K-12 education create a publicly funded and government-authorized savings account with restricted but diverse uses such as private school tuition assistance, tutoring, online learning, or other approved expenses.
This program is eligible for INCOMING and RETURNING families who meet ONE of the following qualifications:
Student participated in the Louisiana Scholarship Program for the previous school year (2024-2025)
Student who attended a public school in the previous school year (2024-2025)
Student’s family earns up to 250% of the federal poverty line ($80,375 annually for a family of four)
Students must be a Louisiana Resident.
We encourage all families who are eligible to apply for this resource.
Applications open on March 1st at 9 am and are on a first-come, first served basis.
Applications close on April 15.

Your child must be a resident of Louisiana.
Your family income is less than the amount listed on the website.
One of the following statements must be true:
Your child attended a Louisiana public school during the 2024-25 school year.
