Avery Boland

A Toast of Praise to Senior Kathryn Fine and 8th Grader Avery Boland, nominated by St. Mary’s Dominican High School for the Louisiana Catholic School Student of the Year Program. Avery Boland is a Student Council Homeroom Representative, Student Ambassador, and a member of the Debs JV Dance Team. Kathryn Fine is President, Tri-M Music Honor Society; Vice President, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society; Drum Major, Band; and Trainer, Students for Human Dignity & Diversity in Action.

The Louisiana Catholic Student of the Year program is open to students attending all Louisiana Catholic schools in each of the respective grades 5, 8, and 12 that meet the criteria for eligibility. The program is designed to recognize outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in discipleship, leadership, service, citizenship, and academic achievement. Students are selected by their school and submitted to the local education agency/diocese level. Nominees are forwarded to a Regional Selection Committee. The resulting 18 finalists compete at the state level.
